Disco Kitchen Smashes £86,487.20 Barrier
Saturday 28th March 2020 Andy Palazon set up a private Facebook group ‘Disco Kitchen’. It was originally, to entertain just a few friends and family. It started with a few hundred people and has now grown to over 8,400 members and has raised to date an incredible £86,487.20. We can not believe we are approaching Disco Kitchen’s 4th Anniversary in March 2024.

Andy Palazon is a local DJ and trades under Soundwaves Disco. He is a great supporter of Joshua Tarrant Trust and has already raised several hundred pounds, before Kitchen Disco was formed. Each month, raffle prizes are donated by generous local businesses and a new fundraising thread is also added. The minimum donation is £4.00, but any amount can be pledged. For example, week 2 Lesley Giddens donated £500.00.
Anyone wishing to join, can do this through the Facebook page. Once a member you can have the sessions streamed into your own home. The group has a wonderful community feel, with lots of photo and videos posted by members. There are over 20 local DJ’s including one of our Trustees, Alex Webb, playing sets with even more queuing to help, all willingly giving their services free of charge. Sets are screened live Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. There are also people listening from all over the world, including Chicago, New Zealand, Dubai, Australia and even Honduras.

The owners of local business Kiiwii Clothing & Promotions based in Steeple Bumpstead have produced Disco Kitchen t-shirts, hoodies, caps. Every product sold Kiiwii Clothing generously donate £2.00 to Joshua Tarrant Trust, this currently stands at a massive £1.968.00 Currently over 650 have already been sold, this number continues to rise. These can be purchased through their website.

Back in June Joshua Tarrant Trust were the recipient of a £4,000.00 ($5,000) grant from Arm COVID-19 Community Fund. Colleagues at Arm have been invited to submit applications nominating charities in our local communities, which led me to submit an application on behalf of Joshua Tarrant Trust. Disco Kitchen has pushed your charity to the front of my mind.’ https://www.arm.com/
Next Level Fitness also donated £350.00 from a fundraiser they organised. https://www.facebook.com/BR.NextLevelFitnessPT/
